Celebrating B Corp Month
We’re excited to celebrate our first B Corp month this March, joining the growing community who are part of this incredible movement for better business.
To mark the occasion, on the 19th you’ll find our founder Chloë, on the panel at the Becoming a B Corp event at The Pig-near Bath. Alongside other sustainable South West businesses, she’ll be sharing lessons and insights from Bramley’s own B Corp journey, what it means to be certified, and the challenges and rewards along the way.
Later in the month we’re excited to be heading to Cornwall to join B Corp at the Beach. An event bringing together industry leaders, household names, and challenger brands to discuss the challenges and opportunities that are shaping the B Corp movement, interspersed with dips in the sea and plenty of fresh coastal air!
While B Corp month is a time to reflect on, and celebrate all that we’ve achieved, it’s also a time to look forward to what’s next. From 2021, when we began our B Corp journey, to 2024, when we finally received our certification, it’s been an inspiring experience. But our story doesn’t end there - it’s an evolving process and that continues to steer every decision we make. Here are some of the initiatives being introduced since our certification last year.
Putting people & planet first
We believe that sustainability is about more than just the environment, it’s about the people who help us grow, the customers who trust our products, and the wider world around us. That’s why we’ve recently introduced volunteer days, where our team can dedicate time to causes that matter to them. Recently, some of the team visited The Treatment Bag, a charity supporting those going through cancer treatment, to help assemble care packages for patients, while others are planning a litter picking morning in the woods near to our Wiltshire office HQ.
Reducing waste, one refill at a time
At Bramley, sustainable practices have always been at the heart of what we do, and it’s something we strive to keep improving on. We were one of the first to introduce refillable bottles to the hospitality industry, challenging single-use plastic culture that was far too prevalent. In 2022, we introduced compostable refill pouches across our best-selling products, offering customers an almost entirely waste-free way to refill their favourite products. This month, we’ve launched refill pouches for our skincare range too, so our customers can indulge in self-care without compromising their environmental values.
A commitment on carbon:
While, as a business, our carbon footprint is ‘lower than average’, we’ve challenged ourselves to improve this further and so on August 2024 we embarked on our Carbon Neutral journey. We are working with ‘My Carbon’ to measure our environmental impact and calculate our Scope 1, 2 & 3 emissions. Our aim by the end of 2025 is to reduce our carbon emissions, offset the emissions that are measured, and certify these offsets. This is a project we plan on carrying out year on year to continuously improve.
We’re constantly finding new ways to support sustainability, transparency and ethical practices, and we can’t wait to continue this journey with you.
