The Magic of...Apple Blossom

At Bramley, apples are at the very heart of everything we do – quite literally. Not only is our name inspired by the quintessentially British Bramley apple, but you’ll also find apple extract in every single one of our products – whether from the apple seed, peel, flesh or blossom.

Apple blossom is a delicate extract and it offers far more than just a pretty fragrance and springtime displays. Rich in antioxidants and minerals, apple blossom has long been celebrated for its cooling and adaptogenic properties. It helps to protect the skin’s cells from oxidative stress (those pesky free radicals that contribute to premature ageing), while its gentle astringent qualities help to tone and refine. Traditionally used as a calming tonic in herbal medicine, apple blossom also has soothing effects, making it an ideal ingredient for modern skincare.

At Bramley, we’re proud that some of the apple blossom used in our blends is harvested from an apothecary garden just a few miles from our HQ and we’ve spent many a day in spring helping to pick the delicate flowers from the orchard. The blossom is then crafted into a floral water (or hydrolat) through gentle steam distillation. Our skilled plantsmiths blend the magical apple blossom extract in three of our skin-loving formulations:
